The position is responsible to review performance of the trainee and adjust training plans to improve performance.
Assist in the management of training and retraining of the Distribution Center employees.
Key partner in the onboarding of new employees and assisting existing staff in skills development in areas of proper lifting techniques, safety, equipment operation and process changes.
Partners with Operations team, Industrial Engineer and Human Resources to ensure metrics, documentation, tools, and systems are current and following company standards.
Performance of the trainer and trainee will be measured against worker safety, productivity, and retention.
What you will do:
Provide one on one training to new hires following the onboarding guidelines and checklists.
Assess and certify candidates on equipment and selection techniques.
Instruct new hires on how to select and palletize grocery, produce, meat, frozen food and dairy orders for shipment to retail stores accurately Teach new hires how to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner Assist Safety Specialist in implementation of monthly tips and recertify employees after incidents on equipment.
Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs Preferred
Qualifications:
High School Education or equivalent Experience in selection and/or lift techniques.
Experience in ADUSA distribution environment.
Skills:
Ability to operate a pallet jack and lift.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and problem identification/solving skills with the ability to read and write English and demonstrate basic numerical skills Demonstrated dedication to safety, with a history of working well with others and contributing to a team effort Ability to lead and communicate in a professional manner.
Ability to partner with various teams and individuals in the Distribution Center.
Abilities:
Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 80 lbs.
repetitively Ability to lift 90% floor to shoulder Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to hear a forced whisper at not less than 5 feet with or without use of a hearing aid Commitment to excellence and a willingness to be trained in a variety of positions, demonstrating multi-skill capabilities.
Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple task in a fast-paced environment Visual acuity of at least 20/40 (Snellen) in each eye with or without corrective lenses Ability to work in a -5 degree to 90
degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
