Four year college degree or equivalent B.
Must have at least one year professional experience related to youth programming and library service C.
Ability to work cooperatively and tactfully with patrons and staff D.
Must have experience with social media, and be able to create and post Youth Services events to various outlets E.
Must be flexible, able to multitask and prioritize F.
Must take initiative and use time efficiently G.
Must maintain a professional appearance on the job III.
JOB SUMMARY The Youth Services Technician is responsible for assisting the Head of Youth Services in all aspects of service in the Youth Services department IV.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A.
Provide excellent customer service, including reference and reader's advisory B.
Plan and implement engaging programs for children, teens, and families that include age-appropriate content, address literacy and learning C.
Perform Circulation duties at the service desk D.
Assist with the creation of flyers for youth events and add same information to the website calendar E.
Create and schedule social media posts for Department events on Facebook, Instagram F.
Assist with collection management:
inventory, weeding, suggestions for purchase, ordering as assigned G.
Review professional journals relating to service to youth H.
Read and review newly acquired materials I.
Keep abreast of new trends for children, teens, and families J.
Assist with outreach, as called upon K.
Assist with Family Place programming, as called upon L.
Other duties, as assigned V.
INDIVIDUAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A.
Maintain an engaging, informative, and appropriate presence for Youth Services on social media B.
Read reviews for and order e-book selections for youth as assigned C.
Maintain budget for assigned purchases D.
Check in new youth items, apply needed genre labels, place in public area E.
Assist with tracking summer program participation and distribution of incentives Job Type:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
